Joshua Vihishima | I love you Pops! | May 7, 2012 |
Yo Pops! My father, my friend, my mentor. An absolutely godly man. You walked your talk. You lived by example. Determined to do what you were convinced was right regardless of norms. Your humility and simplicity was exemplary. You were a very generous man; with your heart, your time and your substance. You welcomed strangers and friends alike. You opened all the homes we lived in to others. You showed me what the good and bad sides of life can be like and how to remain thankful and grateful for every “seemingly” little thing.
You invested so much in my life and I have such big shoes to fill in raising my offspring. I will tell stories of you to your grandchildren.
I have all the letters you sent me when you travelled away on various trips. I recall when you would wake me up with coffee or make me breakfast. Nice and soft sunny side up eggs.
You were not perfect and never pretended to know it all, what the heck? None of us are. But for me you remain always, my hero. Thank you for being genuine. You valued the opinions that I had and released me to make my decisions.
I am so grateful that I was near you when you passed on. I am glad that you were obviously at rest.
I love you Pops and miss you so very much. Till we meet again.
